Have you ever scrolled through your iPhone camera roll and suddenly thought “Oh my lanta! SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED in the last MONTH!” Well, I just did that. And let me just start by saying I have seen revival in dreams in new ways this month like I have never EVER experienced before, I have been learning (both in hard and easy ways) about friendship and relationships in general. Although it’s been rough at times, God’s teaching me a lot and I believe my heart is growing, and THAT is a win! I’ve also seen the beach at least twice, so bless! I’ve been inspired and challenged in my writing and…oi… SO much more! But, since I like the snapshots instead of the novels on these blogs, I want to talk about dreams, both the night-time and daytime kind…
NIGHT-TIME DREAMS
DAY-TIME DREAMS
For those of you who know me, you know that I love music, and have a passion for worship. Over the past two or so years I’ve been studying Film & TV at Hillsong College, but over these past few months, while being in third year (where there is no specific stream one is allocated to) I’ve found myself in more musical circles, and it has me very excited! Not only am I working on songwriting because of a course I’m taking this semester, but I’ve also had opportunity to sing in a chapel worship service, play violin on a Sunday morning and also play in a strings group for Hillsong’s Good Friday service! Now, this is also where I need to do a heart check and make sure my motives, my heart and my thoughts are aligned with the will of God. The reason I get excited and share some of this is because I feel like it is a bit of a milestone in my journey as a christian, and an artist. There are some things (as I’m sure many of you can relate) that I feel like are God-drops on my life, and when I start seeing them come to life it wows me. I just hope and pray that my heart and mind will always be in a posture that is God-honouring. I was inspired recently when reading about J.S. Bach and how his motivation in composing was written with three letters on the bottom of his works: “SDG.” I hope I can do the same, not just with my artistic ambitions, but with my life, and mark them with the words “Soli Deo Gloria” meaning “For the Glory of God Alone.”

Instead of a video montage this week, I thought I’d post a song I wrote and recorded in my first year at Hillsong College. It’s called “Lean In” a melody of God singing to us. The inspiration for it came out of a prayer night I had with my housemates, and the idea is that regardless of where we’re at, pressing into Jesus is the safest place.
