I’ve been listening to Lights’ album “Skin & Earth” heaps in this last month! Because of that, I decided to do a cover of her song “Until the Light.” I had a little bit of fun! Here’s the song mixed with footage of me at a beach… of course!

“Was that today?!”
-
Sisterhood Leadership Morning – a lovely brekky with the ladies of Hillsong Church and then a powerful message from Donna Crouch on why we do ministry. This was followed by connect group training – very practical.
-
Spontaneous lunch date with Jess. Good convos, which led to…
-
Spontaneous meeting with our college creative oversight, Aran Puddle, which fed my soul and refreshed Jess and my hearts!
-
Two hours of sitting in front of a computer, sifting through sermon videos – a practical task for my practicum.
-
Music lesson/work preparation – which involved designing violin graphics to print out and give to students later this week.
-
Wonderful conversation with a girl named Naomi – we started with talking about practicum logistics, and ended up in a refreshing conversation about the balance of rest and self care within a busy person’s life!
-
Quick stop at the library to print a few things.
-
Team Night – ALWAYS a fantastic service with a room full of people who know how to worship and who are hungry for the Word. This was also followed by a strings get together, where 5 of us read through some wonderful sheet music – honestly FED. MY. SOUL.

Arrived home and trained my housemate for a video editing gig.
Third Year
A lot of people have asked how third year is going, and so far guys, honestly, it’s been INCREDIBLE. In my previous blogpost I talked about how it’s all at once amazing and scary. I’m in the place I want to be, around the people I’ve actually (if I’m being really honest) longed to be around. But, it also scares me half to death! One HUGE highlight from the beginning of this year already is that I had opportunity to sing in the very first college chapel of the year! I was so blessed to be able to use my musical ability in the context of College, and right at the outset of the year – what a start! This felt very significant for me personally, and the start of a fulfilled God dream. And yes, it’s all very exhilarating (truly it is) but let me assure you that I have also experienced various daily struggles and challenges as well. Life is life, and it’s full on beautiful and messy.
Intentions
Matthew 6 has been on my mind heaps lately. I’m not a theologian (or am I?), I haven’t studied this passage in depth, but I get the feeling that it’s speaking a lot about the heart. The intentions. One’s motivations. Recently there was a day when I felt God lay verse 21 on my heart:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
It’s referring to what we are investing in, where we are spending resource and what takes priority in our time, but the fact that all of those decisions come from a heart and where it is positioned has stuck out to me. I feel like the Holy Spirit is leading me to a place where my treasure is fully him, nothing else. And when my mind and heart and desires are focused purely on him, whatever comes out of my life will surely be something good.
