Twelve Months In.

A little recap of the BEST year of my life.

  1. Surprise! – Ever since about halfway through my year at Hillsong College, it’s been a dream of mine to come back to Canada and surprise my friends and family!  And this Christmas, by the very kind and generous birthday present from my parents – plane tickets 😃 – I was able to do just that!  You’ll notice we caught most reactions on camera, which leads me to point number two:
  1. Loved – WOW!  I have felt SO loved, valued and cherished over the past month by those I hold dear.  One of the moments in my life where I felt the most loved was my last Sunday at Harvest Christian Fellowship one year ago, when people prayed over me, hugged me, gave me random unexpected gifts and simply said “We love you, we are for you!”  And yet, I am reminded again of how insanely blessed I am by seeing people’s smiles – and even some tears – at my unexpected arrival for the Christmas holidays!  May I never forget or take for granted the people in this country of Canada (and America!) who enrich my life to unexplainable degrees!
  1. 2017 Recap – Around my birthday this past year, someone asked me what three words I would use to describe my 24th year.  I gave it some thought, but then landed on this:
    “Dream Come True”
    God is so incredibly kind.
See, it had been on my heart for quite sometime that “someday,” I wanted to go to Australia.  And of course the prospect of sometime visiting Hillsong Church was quite a remarkable thought, and yet here I am, living in Australia, attending Hillsong College and hillsong church EVERY. WEEKEND.
    WHAT.
    WHAT, THE WHAT?!
Plus, there have been numerous other things along the way that have broken the limitations that I didn’t even realize I had on God.  He is a keeper of his promises and a fulfiller of the dreams he plants in our hearts.  It’s an easy enough thing to believe, but this year has really highlighted it for me.  I’ve been part of conferences and services that have blown my mind, I’ve received encouragement, wisdom and direction in new ways.  I’ve grown in my trust of the Holy Spirit and his work in me and I’ve learned more about handling finances, and trusting God when in need of income – and friends, he has never yet let me down!
Well, there’s about a million things I could write about what happened this year, but instead maybe I’ll take a scroll through previous posts and remind myself of the ways God has spoken, moved and fulfilled dreams in my heart.  May your reflection on 2017 be as encouraging and uplifting, and better yet, may your 2018 be BEYOND your expectations!
